New Zealand (part 1)

I haven't mentioned my trip to New Zealand in April. Actually I went twice – I love to fly! We had planned to go on holiday in May, and I was going to meet my Great-Grandma and then travel up to Auckland and see Grandad. But in April Great-Grandma got very sick. Mummy and I went straight over and visited her in the hospital, and I helped a little bit with packing (although everyone preferred when I helped by holding Great-Grandma's teddy bear than when I helped with packing her crystal). But Great-Grandma was very sick and she died that weekend. So we were home for a just few days and then we went back again, but this time with Daddy too.

We had a family dinner after Great-Grandma's funeral, and I got to meet lots of Great Aunty Sandra's family. Even someone just a little bit older than me! Brianna let me hold some of her favourite coloured pencils, and I gave her some of my stacking cups to play with.

Mummy and Aunty Ferg decided that we should still do our trip, but just move everything 2 weeks earlier. So when we left Christchurch we drove up to Picton, at the top of the South Island. We stopped for lunch in Kaikoura, and I thought the grey pebble beach was excellent! I really enjoyed holding the smooth rocks and moving them around. Aunty Ferg sat next to me in the car but I was very protective of my personal space and could tell straight away when her hand was on my car seat! Except when I got just a bit too tired to stay awake...
