I love pear!

Why did no-one tell me that pear is a taste sensation? Wow! I can't believe I didn't know about pear sooner! I've had pear puree for morning tea the last few days and it's DELICIOUS! I'm so keen on pear that Mummy had to thaw an extra ice cube of pear on Wednesday because I didn't seem quite finished. Mmmmmm pear! Then on both Thursday and Friday I wolfed down two cubes of pear without blinking! (Well, I did blink a little when I took an enthusiastic gulp of pear and managed to glop some between my eyebrows.)

It was peach that finally convinced me that solids were actually tasty and not torture - I had some finely chopped tinned peach for a few days accompanied by some zooming aeroplane action and funny Mummy songs. After I worked up to a whole diced slice Mummy rewarded me the next day with PEAR! Since then I've enjoyed carrot as well, and today we went to the shops and bought some sweet potato and apple and zucchini! And Mummy and Daddy have some pumpkin and potato ice cubes in the freezer ready for me to try! Wheeee! The only thing I have to work on is my timing - I open my mouth wide when the spoon comes towards me, but sometimes when I close my mouth too quickly the food doesn't seem to be inside. But I'm usually second-time lucky.

Also, I found some new toys on the couch. They are good to hold and have coloured buttons that I can press (I'm pretty sure they would taste good too but Mummy and Daddy keep stopping me from finding out). I used a computer for the first time today too - I was videochatting with my Pa and I used the touchpad to move the window around the screen. I'm a whiz with this technology stuff!

Great to hear the good news!
Glad you're enjoying it all, Daniel.
Love from Grandma Ruth.

Hey, thanks for the call. I love to hear Daniel cooing in the background. He looks big in that snuggly red sleeper.

For a funny description of feeding solids to a baby, you should read Anne Lamont's _Operating Instructions_. The jist of it is that feeding a baby is like using wall spackling. She's a hoot.

We can't wait to meet him in person.

And, where did you get that Apple shirt? We'll have to pass on Owen's beloved mini Apple shirt to Daniel. Wicked cool!

Thanks Grandma! Mummy says: Susan, I got the t-shirt as a freebie at the opening of the Apple Store in the Cambridgeside Galleria! And, LOVE Anne Lamott - her Bird by Bird is wonderful too :)
