For my second birthday Gran gave me a family excursion on
Puffing Billy, and last weekend we had our trip! Trains are one of my favourite things, and I love a train ride. But I'd never been on a proper steam engine before. Sitting in an open carriage watching the bush go past and hearing the whistle toot was amazing. Almost too much to take in! For the first part of the ride I was very quiet and just leaned out to watch. Then I took turns sitting with everyone and looking out both sides (especially at the Menzies Creek man walking his leashed ferrets). And I did some climbing and jumping after our yummy picnic lunch. Gran knows Vegemite and cheese is my favourite!
It was such an exciting day that I was worn out by the time we caught our train home. Thank goodness for cuddles and comfortable laps!
