On Saturday I had my very first birthday! In the morning Mummy and Daddy came into my room together singing Happy Birthday and we had a big family cuddle to start the day. Then at lunchtime we had a green sheep party with my family and some of my friends and even a green sheep cake! Rachael and Madeleine helped me blow out the candle (with additional support from Mummy for the final successful attempt). I had a good catch-up with William as well while we did telephone taste testing. And I got to wear my direct-from-Hawaii Hawaiian shirt!
I had my 12 month immunizations on Thursday as well, and now that I'm older they are in my arm rather than my thigh. Ow! But I was very brave and the nurse gave me a sticker for doing so well. And before that on Monday I had my 12 month measurements. I'm been up and down during the year but I started off at the 50th percentile on most things and I'm pretty much there again now. I'm now 75 cm tall - both my height and head measurements are right on average. And I've started gaining more weight and have moved up to the 15th percentile (I weigh 9.1 kg now) but am still more of a greyhound model of baby. But I've almost tripled in weight this year - that's the fastest I'll ever grow! I've started to wave now, and I can give things I'm holding to other people if they ask, and I laugh uproariously while I reach up to pull my pants off Mummy's head when she asks me where they are after a nappy change. It's been a big year, and I'm ready for more.
