Deep breathing

Hey, did you know I might have asthma? Me neither! But I had my first asthma attack a couple of weeks ago. I woke up with a bit of a wheeze and even though I seemed cheery the doctor spotted how hard my tummy was working to breathe. Then when the doctor's medicine didn't quite fix me up Mummy and Ben had to take me to the hospital. Luckily Aunty Fug had taken the day off to hang out with me, so she came too!

I had to have lots of puffer medicine through a funny mask. At first I didn't like it but by the end I got the hang of counting to six with the nurses. I like counting! The doctors and nurses needed to make sure my breathing kept improving so Mummy and I stayed overnight and I didn't like that AT ALL. It was even worse than the lemonade icy pole that they gave me after some yucky tasting medicine. (Aunty Fug helped Ben eat the icy pole – he didn't seem to like it either, and made a horrified face with every bite, but he ate it all up!) I didn't sleep very much. Mummy and I watched lots of Finding Nemo on the TV. I couldn't hear the fishes talking but watching the pictures and having cuddles made me feel a little bit better.

The asthma hasn't come back again. The doctors said it might never come back, or it might just come back sometimes if I have a cold. But so far I'm fine. So we'll see!
