Do you think I would have made a good Japanese peasant boy? I loved getting dressed up in a special straw cape, hat and shoes when we went to
Nihon Minka-en. It was
Culture Day, so there were lots of activities for me to do as well as look at the old houses. I loved having a turn at weaving on a big loom (sitting on Mummy's knee) and using a big pointy stick to try and roll a wheel around a track – I did lots of chasing!
My very favourite thing was our visit to
Thomas Land, which also had some good toys (just a bit less traditional).

I took Thomas Land very seriously. I wanted to remember every single thing! My favourite ride was going around the Island of Sodor on Thomas and seeing Henry and Bertie and all the engines. And I liked flying on Harold the helicopter too!
I tried a few different Japanese foods. Some things looked nice, but had strange stuff in the middle. Yuck! I liked noodles the best. Did you know it's easiest to eat them with your fingers?
