There goes Jupiter, here comes Mars

Most Monday afternoons my friend William comes over and we hang out together, sharing jokes and comparing notes on toys over a snack or two. William has always preferred standing to sitting, but I've been happier to sit in my chair or on the floor and shoot the breeze. And I've actively disliked putting weight on my feet. Until now!

On Tuesday I finally worked out the standing thing. I really wanted to see what Mummy was doing in the bathroom with the tap and my baby bath, so I crawled on to her lap and knelt up and she pulled me up higher and I could see over the edge of the big bath and there was my bath! And it was so interesting as I held on carefully to the side of the big bath with both hands and my mouth that I barely noticed I had all my weight on my feet. Then last night I was in the bath and wanted to see out so Daddy held me up and after I grabbed the side of the big bath I could stand up by myself! For ages! Ten seconds at least! I practised today when Gran came over - she helped me hold on to a chair so I could see some interesting coloured blocks. I think standing might be the start of something big!
